A couple new sites

Hello MT buddies, got a wonderful email from fellow MT, Mary, who has a couple of sites I thought I would post here for you to check out.

The first site is Medical Transcription Mastery Center. It has multiple articles for MTs including getting started in MT, protecting your ears, picking the right school, etc. Lots of info to check out.

Mary's second site is a blog by the same name, MT Mastery Center. It has lots of posts, links, etc. to keep you entertained for a while.

Another post from the "what's in it for you" lady

I think she's a lady, I hope she's a lady or else she might not be happy that I called her a lady.

Anyway, her latest post is about speech recognition gibberish, funny stuff and totally relatable (is that a word and does it have an e after the a?). Love it (and that's spelled lub et). You can view the blog post here.

MT, what's in it for you?

Found this blog called Medical Transcription, what's in it for you. I love blogs that are updated on a regular basis because once I find one I like I'm pretty obsessive about checking back for updates and I'm one of those oddities in the blog reading world who doesn't use a feed reader.

Anyway, this blog appears to be updated pretty regularly with the last post being June 14. This is more a personal blog than a blog like mine that finds links, videos, helpful stuff, etc. so hop on over and see how another MT goes through life. I love being nosy and reading about other people's lives.

Ellie's foray into MT

Another blog by an MT, Ellie's Foray into Medical Transcription. I love reading about how other MT's lives go. We all seem to be so similar and yet vastly different.

Ellie just had a baby it appears (she has an infant and an 18-month-old which is the situation I had when I first went to work at home, can you imagine?). The blog hasn't been updated since March but I'm sure that's because she's got her hands full.

Rennie's Place

Rennie's Place is a great place for MTs. It has a little bit about Rennie's training, an MT chat room, MTs at work, MT forums, etc. Lots to check out.

Rennie's intro goes like this: Hi, my name is Rennie, and I'm a medical transcriptionist. Thanks for visiting my site! I graduated from the Career Step medical transcription course in 2001. I started my first job about a week after graduation and have been happily transcribing (from home) ever since. I am so pleased with the training Career Step provided me that I decided to become a Career Step affiliate and help get the word out about this awesome course.

So go ahead and go visit Rennie's site, seems like a good place to spend some time looking around.

Michelle's Medical Transcription Journey

I found this blog here about Michelle and her journey into the world of MT. She's been blogging since before June of 2007 so there seems to be lots to read. Her MT blog is part of a larger blog that is, it appears, a general family blog. She sounds very sweet.

Michelle has blogged throughout her period of thinking about going to school and then through her time of taking courses at Career Step and finally through her first days as an actual MT. It's pretty interesting, especially if you're considering going through MT training yourself.

An offer

Good morning all. I was thinking, if there is anyone out there who has the desire to write something interesting that's MT related but you're not interested in having your own blog, I'd love to have you as a guest writer. Just email me with your story (maybe about how you got into MT or maybe something else), article, funny story, whatever, and I will post it and give you your credit. Maybe if you do have a blog this would be a good way to get some extra traffic.
